Good morning and happy weekend! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and what better way to show your Valentine how much you love em’ then with these adorable homemade cupcakes. I made these last Valentine’s Day for my hubby and will probably be making them again this year, I’m simply smitten with them! So if you’re still looking for a Valentine’s Day treat for your sweetie you won’t go wrong with these.
I used my favorite white cake recipe for these heart cupcakes (find the full recipe and a short-cut version here). They are so simple to make and the best part, no special baking tins required, so you can make any of your favorite cake recipes into heart shapes too. I may even put a little twist on mine this year and try turning the white cake mix into a pink marbled cake! How divine!!
And to dress up your lovely Valentine’s Day spread even more make sure to download our adorable Cupcake Toppers! P.S.- they make terrific gift tags or other goodie toppers too! So spice up your decor with a little AMD and share your Valentine’s Day with us! Oh and YES! we’d love for you to share how you decorated with them.
Make Heart Cupcakes
2 cupcake tins
Cake mix ingredients
Prepare cake batter as outlined in recipe. Then line the tin with cupcake liners. To turn the round cupcakes into a heart shape place a marble in between each cupcake cup and liner, being careful not to let them fall all the way to the bottom. Then just add the cake batter and bake as instructed. Frost with some lovey dovey colors, adorn with sprinkles and you have the most adorable (not to mention delicious) heart cupcakes!
P.S.- Make sure not to overfill each cup or the batter will overflow into the gap and will not create the heart effect.
